How to Install the Urdu Font  Download Urdu Font 

1. Download the font. Select the font and press “Ctrl + C”.

2. Open "Fonts" from Control Panel.

3. Paste the font by pressing “Ctrl + V”.

4. The font will install automatically.

 

Setting up your Computer for Urdu

For Windows Vista Users

Download Phonetic Keyboard for Windows Vista

Before you can install the keyboard you must install Urdu Support on it. Please do the following:

1.             Open "Regional and Language Options" from Control Panel

2.             Press “Keyboards and Languages” tab.

3.             Press “Change keyboards…” button

4.             Press “Add” button

5.             Select “Input Language: "Urdu", and Keyboard: ”CRULP Urdu Phonetic v1.1"

6.             It is better to remove the Windows default keyboard otherwise it will create a problem for you. To remove select a layout and press “Remove” button

For Windows XP Users

Download Phonetic Keyboard for Windows XP

Before you can install the keyboard you must install Urdu Support on it. Please do the following:

7.             Open "Regional and Language Options" from Control Panel

8.             Choose Language tab.

9.             Check the "Install files for Complex Script and right-to-left languages (Including Thai)".

10.       Press Apply to proceed

11.       Now install the “Phonetic keyboard”.

12.       Click "Details" button

13.       Click on "Add" button from "Input Language" list box select Urdu.

14.       Press OK

15.       Click on Urdu and again click on “Add” button.

16.       Check the Keyboard Layout and select “Phonetic” from drop down list.

17.       It is better to remove the Microsoft Urdu keyboard.

Now you can type Urdu text after selecting it from the taskbar OR use alt+shift.

 

For Windows 2000 Users

1.    Open control panel

2.    Double click on regional and language options

3.    Select Input Locals

4.    click add button

5.    Select Urdu from Input Locales

6.    Select Arabic from keyboard layout/IME

7.    Check enable indicator on task bar
